Your subconscious mind is the most powerful and magical part of you. It is capable of processing 11 million bits of information that your human senses take in every SECOND, it then filters them and chooses 40-50 bits to show to your conscious mind.
In short... not working with your subconscious mind is JUST PLAIN SILLY.
YOUR MOON SIGN IS AS IMPORTANT AS YOUR SUN SIGN
IN FACT, your moon sign is your creative, cyclical, feminine, receptive side. If you didn't know this, that is normal. We have all grown up in a patriarchal society that favored the masculine, linear, rational and logical parts (which correspond to our Sun sign).
Working with your moon has the magical effect of both validating your wildest needs and desires AND guides you towards more creativity and receptivity.
YOUR RISING SIGN MIGHT BE EVEN MORE IMPORTANT
If you want keys to your personality, to what your life will always be characterized by (in essence your future), look to your Rising or Ascendant. It is the sign that rises in the East when you were born.
It is also often the most perceptible part of your personality - the one people notice the most - because it is how you greet the world...indispensable for understanding how you work in the world and what tools your spirit has for you.
OFTEN WE LEAN ON THE MOST SOCIALLY ACCEPTED PARTS OF OUR BIRTH CHART
Which causes other parts of our spirit to wither. Over time this neglect causes us to get sick, or to suffer from addictions or self-defeating behaviors. Reading your birth chart allows you to explore parts of you that have been marginalized. This brings enormous vitality and joy back into your life.
LIKE THE SUN AND THE MOON, THE HEMISPHERES OF THE BRAIN ARE BOTH EQUALLY IMPORTANT
The hemispheres of the brain are FASCINATING. The left brain is naturally more linear and more rules based. The right side of the brain is generally unconcerned with rules and all about the present moment, about creativity, cycles, emotions. We are each naturally inclined towards one side. AND society has tried to minimize our use of the right brain and prioritize the linear, rationality of the left brain for centuries.
Learning to work with both hemispheres is SUPER helpful for mitigating feelings of "there is something wrong with me" as well as stopping anxiety and depression.
OUR NERVOUS SYSTEMS ARE INHERITED.
That's right. It actually makes sense if you think about it. Our nervous system is designed to detect danger, and therefore TO KEEP US ALIVE. Now everyone talks about lions and tigers, but they are missing the point. There are modern things that were threatening to our ancestors, like having money, being too smart or standing out, being a witch (or "witchy), not fitting into the social group. I could go on and on. The thing is that our nervous system is keeping us in line in a way that is antiquated. Updating it is part of our work together.
HYPNOTHERAPY IS LIKE MEDITATION, BUT FASTER
Hypnotherapy isn't about making you do weird shit. It's about getting you into a relaxed space so that your conscious mind can take a fucking break...! When we do this so many wonderful things happen, including 1. creating more communication between your conscious and subconscious minds so that 2. you can access more of your genius and 3. you can imagine being the change you want to create - which is essential for changing things. Athletes have been using this for decades. Just to give you an idea of how much more effective it is: the patient recovery rate with psychotherapy is 38% after 600 sessions. With hypnotherapy, the rate is 93% after six sessions...
I'm Mercedes.
I have been in therapy since I was 16. As a troubled teen, I suffered from anorexia, bulimia, low self esteem and terrible social anxiety (part of which is inherited). I also worked extremely hard to succeed in school despite having undiagnosed ADHD (overachieving eldest daughter, anyone?).
Over the years I've done many things to make myself feel better. I tried all kinds of therapists and therapies. I devoured self-help books, studied psychology, shamanism, yoga, ayurveda, the nervous system and most recently I was certified as an integrative change worker and hypnotherapist.
Here's what I learned: our astrological chart predisposes us to certain challenges. IE: Earth signs are prone to overworking. Water signs are very sensitive and in our society, sensitivity lends itself to addiction. Air signs get distracted easily...
AND there are different types of work to be done. Soul, spirit and energetic healing work. Meaning and rational understanding work. PTSD, nervous system and work with the body. And then there is the (totally overlooked and absolutely essential) work of updated your BRAIN, so that the healing, meaning, purpose giving, etc etc sticks. This is where most modalities fall short. This is why what I offer is really amazing and works.
